About
QBR
"In
its pages you will find fiction, nonfiction, poetry, childrens books, health and
lifestyle management, writers from Africa and the Caribbean--the whole of the Diaspora,
the whole of our experience. How do you know who the newest authors are? How do you
know what to read? Do you still wait for second hand word of mouth
recommendations for the books you read? How do you know which books are good for your
children? Black magazines aside, who reviews our books? Somehow, only major writers get
majority press, and we have, unfortunately, followed suit with our support. We can no
longer be defined by others--we judge ourselves. We can no longer have our literary value
determined by others--we determine that ourselves. It is ours to control."
